On 25 May from 10 a.m., the General Assembly of Confindustria Est Europa will be held at Viale Pola 12 in Rome, entitled “Eastern Europe at the centre. Scenarios and trends for Italy's projection to the EAST”, during which the Country Guide 2023 of Confindustria Est Europa will be presented.
Eastern Europe is increasingly at the centre of Italy's and Europe's international projection. The growing interest in the countries of this strategic neighbourhood stems from their potential for economic growth and development in key sectors, as well as from a general trend towards relocating production and supply closer to home — a “near-shoring” logic sharpened by the pandemic and by the changed geopolitical context. In the new MAECI-MIMIT internationalisation strategy, particular attention is paid to our neighbourhood as an area of strategic interest, and the Italian Government has expressed its wish to “bring more Italy into the Balkans” and to act in the direction of a more integrated Europe. Exploring the scenarios, the trends and the support available to deepen Italy's projection towards the East, at the highest levels of institutional, academic, economic and financial involvement, is the framework for the 2023 Assembly of Confindustria Est Europa which, with 11 member International Representative Offices, supports entrepreneurs through internationalisation in Central and Eastern Europe.
