On 2 June in Debrecen, on the occasion of the Italian Republic Day, Confindustria Ungheria held its first official event on “The new prospects for Pan-European Industrial Development”, organised in collaboration with Confindustria Est Europa and the City of Debrecen and in partnership with UniCredit.
The event was opened with institutional greetings from Sen. Roberto Menia, from the President of Confindustria Ungheria, Roberto Massucco, from the Mayor of Debrecen, László Papp, and from the Deputy Director General of HIPA – the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency, Rita Szép Tüske, together with messages from the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, and from the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Maria Tripodi, who highlighted the Government's support for Italian companies.
The Conference was an occasion to share the state of economic relations and the points of synergy between Italy and Hungary, the trend of investment in the country and in particular the growth and economic development potential of the city of Debrecen, as well as the financial support for companies' internationalisation strategies provided by UniCredit. This was thanks to contributions from the Italian Embassy, from Mgyosz (the Hungarian industrialists' association), from HIPA and from the Debrecen Economic Development Centre. Proceedings were closed by Confindustria's Director of International Affairs, Raffaele Langella, who highlighted Confindustria's commitment to internationalisation and presence abroad.
The President of Confindustria Est Europa, Maria Luisa Meroni, spoke to recall the potential the country offers, presenting the Confindustria Est Europa Federation — its history, its mission and its activities — and recalling the importance of the International Representative Offices of the Confindustria System in supporting companies through internationalisation, as well as of acting in synergy with the various actors of the Italian system.
Congratulations to President Roberto Massucco and to Confindustria Ungheria for organising this important launch event and for contributing to the strengthening of relations between Italy and Hungary, with some 100 participants from Italian and Hungarian companies and a number of associations.
Representing Italy abroad takes on an even deeper meaning on a date as important as 2 June.
