Yesterday, 2 March, a stop on the CEE Roadshow entitled “Doing Business in Eastern Europe”, was held in Trento, organised by the Federation in collaboration with Confindustria Trento, Assoimprenditori Alto Adige and in partnership with UniCredit, Trentino Export and IDM. The initiative drew 90 participants, 60 of them company representatives, and set out to provide precise updates on the markets of Eastern Europe, among the most promising destinations for the exports of Trentino-Alto Adige, which in 2022 are set to exceed 11 billion.
The first part of the day took the form of a seminar, opened by Roberto BUSATO, Director General of Confindustria Trento; Harald OBERRAUCH, Vice-President for internationalisation at Assoimprenditori Alto Adige; and Maria Luisa MERONI, President of Confindustria Est Europa, who — in highlighting how far the Central and Eastern European area is a strategic neighbourhood of great importance for the Italian economy — spoke of the role of Confindustria Est Europa and of the network's International Representative Offices in helping to foster economic ties between Italy and the countries concerned, as well as in strengthening the presence of Italian companies through concrete support in seizing specific business opportunities.
President Meroni's address was followed by the country focus sessions, with contributions from the representatives of the Confindustria associations of the countries in the area. Speakers included Giulio BERTOLA, President of Confindustria Romania; Giovanni MARTINELLI, Vice-President of Confindustria Bulgaria; Franco COGLOT, Director General of Confindustria Slovenia; Janina MATHIASZ, Director General of Confindustria Ungheria; and Michele SORGENTE, Representative of Confindustria Albania.
There followed a focus on the UniCredit Group's instruments to support companies expanding their business abroad, with an address by Alessandro PAOLI, Head of UniCredit International Center, and on SACE's instruments for the competitiveness of companies abroad, with SACE representatives Marco MARTINCICH, Regional Director North-East, and Ilaria PARISI, of the Business Network section.
The seminar closed with an in-depth look at the development of Trentino-Alto Adige companies' business in Eastern Europe, with the President of Trentino Export, Barbara FEDRIZZI, and the Senior International Consultant at IDM, Francesca FIORI.
The second part of the day saw over 80 one-to-one meetings between the representatives of the foreign Associations and companies from Trentino-Alto Adige: both in person with the representatives of the countries present at the seminar and remotely with the representatives of Confindustria Polonia, Confindustria Serbia and Confindustria North Macedonia, as well as with contacts from the UniCredit Group and SACE.
