On the eve of the European elections, Confindustria Est Europa was in Brussels for a day of in-depth discussion on the European issues of greatest interest to the International Representative Offices in Eastern Europe, organised in collaboration with, and hosted at, the Confindustria Delegation in Brussels.
“Welcome to your own home” — with these words we were greeted by the Director of European Affairs, Matteo Borsani.
The meeting and the dialogue with experts from the Italian Permanent Representation to the EU and from the European Commission opened up reflections on the future of Europe at a strategic historical moment, not least in terms of the Union's size and the acceleration of enlargement to the East.
The Innovation Fund, Horizon Europe, Cohesion Policy, InvestEU, funding and enlargement were among the topics addressed.
European funds are of considerable importance to our companies, offering financing and support opportunities for business development and fostering greater competitiveness.
It was only the beginning of a path towards deeper integration into European dynamics, to strengthen the centrality of the business dimension and of our competitiveness at global level.
