Sofia hosted the Extraordinary General Assembly of Confindustria Bulgaria, held in the Ruen Room of member company Hilton Hotel Sofia, a central moment for the life of the association and for the strengthening of the Italian business network in the country.
Proceedings opened with an address by outgoing President Roberto Santorelli, who greeted the members and presented the Association's first Sustainability Report, setting out its objectives and contents. This was followed by greetings from the President of Confindustria Est Europa, Patrizio Dei Tos, confirming the strong bond between the Federation and the Bulgarian representative office.
The President-designate Nunziante Coraggio then set out to the Assembly the programme for the 2025–2029 term, presenting the composition of the new Presidency team and the responsibilities assigned to the General Council and to the members involved.
The polling station, chaired by member and Councillor of the Young Entrepreneurs Group Enrico Rainone, opened voting in the afternoon. At the close of the count, Nunziante Coraggio was elected President of Confindustria Bulgaria with 83.5% of the votes of those present.
The following Vice-Presidents were also elected:
• Giovanni Martinelli, with responsibility for Infrastructure and Transport
• Francesco Piccolo, with responsibility for Internationalisation
• Andrea Rista, with responsibility for Cybersecurity
• Nevena Sendreva, with responsibility for Industry and Membership Development
In his closing address, the new President thanked members for the trust placed in him, confirming his commitment to strengthening the role of Confindustria Bulgaria as a point of reference for Italian companies in the country and within the Confindustria Est Europa network.
