Today, 1 July, the initiative entitled “Opportunities for collaboration with Confindustria Est Europa: a network supporting Italian companies” was held in Salerno, organised by Confindustria Salerno and Confindustria Est Europa in partnership with UniCredit, as a stop on the CEE Roadshow. It was an occasion for study and discussion of internationalisation opportunities in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as an opportunity for companies belonging to Confindustria Salerno to meet the International Representative Offices of the Confindustria Est Europa network.
The initiative was attended by the President of Confindustria Salerno, Antonio Ferraioli, who in his opening greetings underlined the importance of an area as strategic as Eastern Europe for business internationalisation. Proceedings were opened by Stefania Rinaldi, Vice-President of Confindustria Salerno with responsibility for internationalisation, who highlighted the Association's initiatives aimed at developing companies' strategic and operational skills beyond national borders. The President of Confindustria Est Europa, Maria Luisa Meroni, then set out the Federation's activities and mission, presenting the system made up of the 11 Representative Offices and their services to companies, as well as an overview of economic relations between Italy and the CEE countries and of the main factors of attractiveness and business and investment opportunities that characterise the area and the individual countries.
Proceedings continued with addresses by Domenico Mauriello, Secretary General of Assocamerestero, who illustrated the system of Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad in support of companies; and by Alessandro Paoli, Head of UniCredit International Center Italy, focusing on UniCredit's presence in Eastern Europe and on the support the Group provides to companies expanding their business abroad. As a business testimony, Gianfilippo Bottone, Legal Representative of De Iuliis Macchine SpA, recounted his company's experience and highlighted the importance of association and the role of Confindustria in providing support and orientation within the country. Proceedings were closed by the President of Unioncamere, Andrea Prete, with an excursus on the economic picture in the current international scenario.
The President of the Small Industry Committee of Confindustria Salerno, Lina Piccolo, opened the second part of the event, which featured a one to one session between the roughly 30 companies present and the Presidents/Directors of the Representative Offices present — an opportunity for closer discussion for those who operate, or wish to operate, in the countries of the CEE network.
